To inform and inspire their 3,400+ employees with the many goings-on around the company, Digital Realty’s internal communications needed to facilitate a sense of connection, no matter whether employees are in the office, a data center, at home, or hybrid.
“From Dallas to Amsterdam, London to India, Singapore to Japan — we’re a real global company,” says Mitchell Kienhuis, Communications & Events Coordinator. “One of the challenges we faced was finding a way to reach people.”
At the time, their internal communications strategy was primarily focused on written communication, and any video content was either produced externally or took shape as a video conference recording. “We thought about where communication was going, and video seemed like the obvious next big thing,” says Niamh Van de Velde, Sr. Manager, Global Employee Communications.
